Devin Booker: Fantasy Basketball Update

Devin Booker, after being stone cold since the All-Star Break, had in incredible game in Thursday’s tilt against the Heat. He was pretty efficient as well with 11-21 from the field and 9-9 from the line. Booker also went 3-7 from behind the arc. He chipped in four assists and three rebounds in an encouraging 39 minutes.

You might want to cruise by your fantasy leagues and see if Booker is sitting around on your league’s waiver wire as this could  hopefully be signs of things to come. We know that Booker has the talent and he has shown flashes of that ability on this level so this could easily  be sustainable. I know that Brandon Knight is  supposed to be back soon and he could dampen Booker’s value some, but as for now Knight does not have an official return date.

If you are in a cats league and in need of points or threes you could certainly do a lot worse than picking Booker up and giving him a shot to help your squad out. I also am adding Booker in dynasty leagues. Now I will advise a word of caution and say that I don’t expect Booker to be a starter next season at all. Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight should be at full speed and fully healthy to start the coming season. I could certainly see Booker in a sixth man type of role and excelling in that if that is indeed what he is called upon to do.

So to sum it up I would add Booker in any leagues that he is on the waiver wire, but as for trading for him I would keep it in mind that he is unlikely to be the man as he has been now with both Bledsoe and Knight on the shelf. He would be a solid project type of player for a long-term deal in a dynasty league, but remember to temper your expectations and do not overpay for him.

I would also take a look at adding Alex Len from the Suns. They are giving these young guys a lot of run and they should continue to do so going forward. Len has been making the most of his minutes and has turned in three straight double-doubles and has four in his last six games. I would also look at Len in a dynasty league and have moderately fewer worries about him for next season. If he continues as he has, he could well be a starter for next season.
