Zach LaVine brought the dunk contest to Charlotte early, throwing down a 360 against the Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets will host the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend. Though there’s always the chance that he will choose to go out on top, you have to assume that two-time Slam Dunk champion and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine will look to defend his dunk title in the Queen City. As the Wolves faced the Hornets on Monday night, LaVine gave the people of Charlotte a bit of a preview of what they’ll have in store when he does come to dunk next year.

As the Wolves took on the Hornets on the road on Monday, LaVine got loose on a fast break and everyone was ready for him to show off his high flying. However, LaVine took it to the next level as the second-year guard busted out a 360 spin on his dunk before throwing it down with authority:

There are so many things about LaVine’s dunking that are impressive, but it will never not be incredible how easy he makes doing things like this look. This isn’t something that 90 percent of human beings (a generously low estimate) on the planet can do and he’s out here making it look like putting his right foot in front of his left.

Though we can joke about this being a preview for Zach LaVine in the 2017 Slam Dunk Contest, perhaps the craziest part is that’s somewhat of a lie. Sure, a 360 dunk in a game is impressive, but it doesn’t come close to what he does in the contest.
