High Value PG

Elfrid Payton-Orlando Magic (5,900): Even with the fatigue factor, Payton is worth a look tonight since the Lakers still have allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing PG so far this season.  Payton played just 23 minutes last night and handed out seven assists to go with six points and three steals for 24.5 fantasy points. He had at least 25 fantasy points in four of his five previous games, and tonight he’ll look to get back to that level or even higher (like the 44.5 fantasy points he produced on Friday against Phoenix). ∗∗

Jordan Clarkson-Los Angeles Lakers (5,900): On the other side of tonight’s late game, Jordan Clarkson sat out a game last Friday but returned successfully in the Lakers rout of the Warriors on Sunday.  In that game, Clarkson played 37 minutes scoring 25 points and getting to 35 fantasy points. He has at least 30 fantasy points in six of his last nine games and is a solid play tonight although he upside isn’t quite as limitless as his backcourt make D’Angelo Russell’s.

Patty Mills-San Antonio Spurs (4,000): On the second night of their back-to-back expect the Spurs to get plenty of time for Patty Mills who has been playing very well lately with at least 22 fantasy points in three of his last four. He had 17 points in 22 minutes last night against the Pacers while adding four rebounds and two assists. Mills has been playing over 20 minutes a night almost every night for the Spurs which sets him up well for success tonight against the T-Wolves who allow the sixth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG.∗∗

D.J. Augustin-Denver Nuggets (4,000): Another cheap play at PG who has been flashing his upside lately is D.J. Augustin who the Nuggets acquired at the trade deadline.  Augustin has scored in double-digits in seven of his last nine contests with at least 20 fantasy points in each of those games. He hit the game-winning free throws for Denver on Sunday against the Mavs, and he’ll get lots of time tonight against the Knicks.
