Andrew Wiggins defied gravity and took flight against the Sacramento Kings.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a promising future thanks to the play of Andrew Wiggins. His crazy athletic moves and scoring ability have given the Timberwolves a cornerstone for their rebuild. Wiggins showed the moves that made him the first overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft against the Sacramento Kings as he took flight from just inside the paint.

It’s pretty clear that Kings forward Rudy Gay wanted no part of that and neither did any of his teammates. Understandable because even if Gay had tried to stop Wiggins there, he would not have had any success as Wiggins was soaring high above Gay at that point.

Andrew Wiggins has averaged 20.7 points per game for the Minnesota Timberwolves entering Wednesday’s battle against the Sacramento Kings. He is also averaging 3.0 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game entering the tilt. Wiggins is fourth on the Timberwolves in Player Efficiency Rating (16.9) as well.

Wiggins has made 45.6 percent of his shots entering Wednesday which is third on the Minnesota Timberwolves among players who average at least 10 field goal attempts per game. As he becomes more efficient and consistent as a shooter, the first round pick of the 2014 NBA Draft should help the Minnesota Timberwolves rebuild for the future.
