Maybe Jordan Spieth is so good he can get away with obviously tempting fate like this.

The idea of sports superstitions and curses is mostly a silly one. And yet you can’t avoid them sometimes.

NBA superstar and reigning MVP Stephen Curry seems to be suffering one right now, as his Golden State Warriors have been pushed to Game 7 by the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he’s been suffering some un-Steph-like indignities like fouling out for the first time in his career in Game 6. Could it be the shoes?

And by that, we mean the Under Armour Curry Two Low ‘Chef’ kicks that the internet hated on but Curry himself insists are fire. Those shoes might not be the best of luck is all we’re saying.

Which is why it’s an incredible show of solidarity with Steph or an equally ballsy thumbing of his nose at the sports gods for Jordan Spieth to tweet this:

Yep, that’s Spieth and caddie Michael Greller with pairs of the Curry Two Low ‘Chef’ shoes. Of course this is likely all in the name of corporate endorser solidarity, as Spieth is also an Under Armour athlete. Yet this still seems like an unnecessary tempting of fate, if you believe in such things.

Spieth will need all the good fortune he can get to go with his amazing talent, as he tees off at 1:10 pm on Sunday for the final round of the U.S. Open tied for 28th, 11 strokes behind leader Shane Lowry.
