Wednesday’s Main slate starts at 7:05PM EST and includes 8 games of FanDuel MLB action!
I will continue to track winning Tournament lineups and compare trends over 5 day periods to help us understand what it takes to remain profitable. I HIGHLY recommend each of you do this each morning to look back on the previous night and understand how the winning lineups are constructed in the games you participate in.
The view below tracks GPP entries over various time periods, breaking out key metrics to understand the trends and compositions of GPP winning rosters:
Time Period | Score | Pitcher Salary | Pitcher % | Hitter % | Hitter $/Player | Value |
Season | 255.4 | $ 8,676 | 25% | 75% | $ 3,290 | 7.30 |
5 Day | 242.9 | $ 9,071 | 26% | 74% | $ 3,241 | 6.94 |
Prev Day | 312.0 | $ 8,150 | 23% | 77% | $ 3,356 | 8.91 |
Now on to the picks…For more DFS Strategy insights, check out my latest article to help take your game to the next level! I highly recommend gamers track their game performance across the various types of games they play – GPP’s, Cash, Multipliers etc – as this simple exercise will help teach you more about profitable roster construction than you can imagine.
With another abbreviated slate Wednesday night, gamers will have the decision of whether to pay up for Max Scherzer or Danny Salazar or look to drop down at SP and save salary for their lineups.
Danny Salazar ($10,700) at Atlanta: Although Salazar is the second highest priced pitching option on the main slate, he is the clear top option on the board due to his match up with the Atlanta Braves.
Over the last month, Salazar has averaged 42.5 points per game, just 1.5 points less than Scherzer, and at this price point would deliver better bang for your buck with 4x value.
Salazar is 7th in MLB with a 28% K rate and is a healthy favorite (-170) against the Braves which makes him the safest cash game play and the top projected scoring pitcher from my perspective.
Masahiro Tanaka ($9,600) at home versus Texas: Over the last two weeks, Tanaka has been excellent, averaging 45 points per game in back to back victories.
Tanaka is a massive home favorite (-200) and the Vegas has the Rangers has the 5th lowest projected scoring team of the entire day.
Gamers who may not be paying attention to Tanaka’s recent surge and his perceived difficult match-up with the Rangers could lead him to being an ideal under owned pivot who can match the point production of Salazar or Max.
Next: Top Hitting Stacks for the Main Slate
On the evening slate, selecting your offense will not be as straight forward with the highest projected scoring game against the Twins/White Sox and the fact that FanDuel algorithm has increased the price points in recent days to make finding bargains even more difficult!
White Sox/Twins: With both teams projected to score over 5 runs on Wednesday night, this may be a surprising top spot for offense but with James Shields and Ricky Nolasco on the hill this is a nice spot to target in DFS.
Brian Dozier ($3,800) is the top target in this game as over the last two weeks, Dozier is the 7th best hitter in all of baseball from a point per game perspective, averaging 17 points per contest.
Tim Anderson ($2,500) continues to bat lead-off for the White Sox and FanDuel has not yet adjusted his price which makes him a must play at SS.
Oakland A’s LHB versus Jake Peavy: The A’s OF has some sneaky plays with Coco Crisp ($3,000) & Josh Reddick ($3,000) sitting at reasonable price points for Oakland.
Crisp has been on fire over the last week, averaging 23 points per game which is the 3rd best PPG average of any MLB hitter and with a 3K price tag makes for a great play.
Reddick returned from the DL on Tuesday and with the platoon advantage, I like the idea of employing a mini stack in the OF with the Oakland bats against Peavy.
