Wil Myers has been on a tear this season for the San Diego Padres. If he’s available in your league, make a move for him.

At long last, baseball fans around the world are seeing what San Diego Padres outfielder/first baseman, Wil Myers is truly made of. After multiple seasons in the majors, he is showing why he was a number one prospect just a few short seasons ago. He has done so in tremendous fashion, putting together his best season to date.

Myers is in the midst of his fourth season in the MLB. Through his first three seasons, he was nothing spectacular. He was merely a shell of the player he was projected to be. Fans were wondering if the young man had been a bust.

Finally, Myers is healthy and excelling at an alarming rate. The 25-year-old is growing before our eyes and has found his comfort zone in San Diego.

Wil Myers, so far through the 2016 season, has been very impressive for the Padres and perhaps more so for his fantasy owners. As we near the All Star break, the utility man is batting .284 with 18 home runs, 53 RBI and 51 runs scored for his club. He also has 11 stolen bases.

The ceiling is high for the young man and the Padres are certainly enthusiastic with what they are seeing out of Myers this season.

Myers has never played more than 88 games in any given season since his debut in 2013 for the Tampa Bay Rays. This is attributed to his inability to stay healthy. Now that he has proven to be healthy, he is really showing what he can do.

Through his first three seasons, Wil Myers had a career .256 batting average with 27 home runs and 117 RBI in 235 games played. Myers in on pace to surpass these career numbers just this season if he can remain healthy and keep up this relative pace. After a lackluster past two seasons playing for both the Rays and Padres, Myers has improved in all facets of the game.

Playing first base, his strikeout rate has decreased, he is seeing the ball better, and his power is back in full swing in 2016.

Myers, being just 25-years-old, will be a player to watch for many seasons to come. It takes time for many players to adjust to the MLB stage, and Myers is doing just that in his first truly full season, provided he can remain healthy.

He had hit a bit of a slump back in May, batting just .229 for the month, but has found his stroke once again here in June. He has hit 11 home runs and 31 RBI throughout the course of June and is lighting up the stat sheet for both San Diego and fantasy owners.

Wil Myers ranks in the top 20 currently for all fantasy batters this season. He is averaging roughly three fantasy points per game depending on your respective league’s scoring settings. Myers ranking up there with the likes of Paul Goldschmidt, Bryce Harper, and Manny Machado, just to give you an idea of his productivity this season.

Look for Myers to continue his hot hitting well beyond the All Star break. This young man is a star and will be for many years to come.
