How to get more pokeballs in Pokemon GO
By Buckie Wells
Is your inventory looking a little low? Here’s how you can stock up.
It was about 1 am when I first realized that I had a problem. I had just thrown five pokeballs at a wild Weedle and was getting ready to throw the sixth when a little message appeared at the bottom of my screen that I was out of pokeballs.
My interest in bug-type Pokemon is fairly low, but I was really close to evolving my Kakuna into a Beedrill and 1 am is not the best time for a stroll around town.
If you’ve found yourself in a similar situation and are wondering how to get more pokeballs in Pokemon GO, we’re here to help.
The cheapest, though not the easiest way, to get more pokeballs is by visiting Pokéshops. On your map, Pokéshops are floating squares near real-world landmarks that you can visit for special goods. Once you’re close enough (like within spitting distance), you can click on the square / spinning pokeball icon. You’ll know you’re at the Pokéshop when you can open the info page about the destination. If you’re too far, the game will let you know.
Once you’re on the info page, you simply spin (by swiping across) the circular icon around to receive a few surprises — and not just pokeballs! If you’re lucky, you can get an egg, too.

The more Pokéshops you visit, the more goods you can grab. As you level up, the prizes will, too.
Alternatively, maybe the Pokéshops around you are few and far between. Good news, there is another way.
But it’s going to cost you a little bit of real-world money.
While standing still, you can press the pokeball icon at the bottom center of your screen to open up a menu branch. Press “SHOP” and you’ll be in the in-game store that offers bulk caches of pokeballs starting at 20 pokeballs for 100 coins. Or 100 pokeballs for 460 coins, and 200 pokeballs in exchange for 800 coins.
If you don’t have any coins, you can purchase 100 coins for $0.99 (again, real money). If you have a hundred bucks just lying around, you can invest in a whopping 14,500 coins for all your Poké-needs.
