Charles Barkley defends Draymond Green for slapping heckler.

Yesterday, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested on assault charges. Green apparently slapped a fan in the face who was heckling him during a night out. The Golden State Warriors have released a statement regarding the incident but won’t comment further until more details are released. Questions over whether Green will suit up for Team USA this summer also have arose.

Tuesday, basketball Hall of Famer and TNT analyst Charles Barkley has come to the defense of Green. As we have all come to know, Charles Barkley is and was never someone to hold back his feelings and actions.

During his playing days, Barkley had a famous commercial in which he proclaimed to everyone that he was not a role model. Also during his playing days, Barkley reportedly had an incident in which he was arrested for throwing a man through a bar window.

So with Barkley being able to sympathize with Green’s actions, he’s defending him. On The Dan LeBatard Show , Barkley said “More power to Draymond for slapping the hell out of that kid”. Barkley also went on to blame the media for causing incidents like this occur, which can be heard below:

For Draymond Green, a backing from Charles Barkley will not get him out of the hot water that he’s in, especially since Barkley is not quite the boy scout himself. Hopefully for Green, this will not cost him a spot on the USA Team as he was expected to have a key role in the rotation.
