DraftKings MLB Picks For July 25
12 of the 15 games are in the early tournament, which gives us nearly a full slate to choose from. There are six pitchers that cost more than $9,000. Are any of them worth paying for? Where are some bargains so we can afford someone that expensive? Let’s go over the past stats to find out!

NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.
The Giants are 5-16 lifetime against Anthony DeSclafani with a homer and two RBI. Hunter Pence has two of those hits, the only homer, and half of the RBI. DeSclafani is having a great season, and looks to be a strong option once again.
Braden Shipley will make his major league debut against a suspect Brewers team. He has a 3.70 ERA in the Pacific Coast League, which is pretty impressive. I would stay away from most rookies, but Shipley may be the most polished of any besides Jameson Taillon that have made their debuts this year.
Aaron Sanchez has never faced the Padres, but he is 10-1 with a 2.87 ERA. Trusting him against the Padres is not a hard decision.
Colin Rea has never faced the Blue Jays, but you don’t want to use someone with an ERA on the wrong side of five against an offense like this.

Best Bets:
Noah Syndergaard ($11,100): Syndergaard’s only start against the Cardinals came a little over a year ago. He went seven strong innings giving up two runs and striking out six. He is about as good of an option as you will find.
Hector Santiago ($7,900): The Royals have hit just .168 against Santiago in 101 at bats, so it’s not just a fluke. The Royals also have only two homers and six RBi with 26 strikeouts against him. He could be an absolute steal at this price if you trust the past stats.
Honorable Mention:
Justin Verlander ($9,400): The Red Sox are a force to be reckoned with, but Verlander has held the current Sox roster to a respectable .246 average with only two homers and ten runs in 118 at bats while striking out 28. Those are solid numbers, and Drew Pomeranz got tagged in his first Boston start. Welcome to the American League, Drew.
Jeremy Hellickson ($8,300): Hellickson has plenty of experience against the Marlins from his days with the Rays in interleague play. The Fish are only hitting .213 off of him in 150 at bats with four homers and ten RBI. One of those homers is by Justin Bour, who is on the DL. They have only struck out 25 times, but Hellickson isn’t known as a strikeout pitcher anyway. He could be a sneaky pick for solid points. Oh, and he went eight innings while giving up just one run against the Marlins five days ago. Use him again!
Dallas Keuchel ($8,000): The Yankees are only hitting .189 against Keuchel in 90 at bats, but they do have three homers and nine runs. Those are pedestrian numbers. What could set Keuchel apart is the 31 strikeouts. That is a great rate, and could make Keuchel an excellent plan B.
Dark Horses:
Daniel Mengden ($6,000): Mengden pitched well against Texas back on June 16th. He have up just one run in 6.1 innings while striking out seven. If he comes anywhere near that tonight, he will be one of the top bargains around.
Jarred Cosart ($4,900): The Phillies are only 7-33(.212) against Cosart with a homer and two RBI. The bad part is Cosart only racked up six strikeouts. Those are decent numbers for the price, but his ERA on the season in nearly 8. There is considerable risk involved.
Yovani Gallardo ($4,200): The Rockies are hitting .247 against Yovani Gallardo in 73 at bats, but they have just one homer and three RBI and 20 strikeouts. This game is at Camden Yards, not Coors Field. This could be a huge reward if you take this risk.
Next: Who Are The Best Stacks?
You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about “stacking” pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.
You may want to stack some Astros against Michael Pineda. Carlos Correa ($5,200) is 5-6 with two doubles and two solo homers. Evan Gattis ($3,200) is 2-5 with a triple, a homer, and two RBI off of Pineda. George Springer ($4,100) is 2-7 with a homer and four RBI. Preston Tucker ($2,800) could be a nice punt option. He is 2-5 with two doubles, but no counting stats.
Stacking Reds against Jake Peavy could also be a good idea. Zack Cozart ($3,200) is only 1-4, but the hit is a two run homer. Adam Duvall ($3,900) is 1-2 with a walk and a solo homer off of Peavy. Brandon Phillips ($3,000) is 7-27(.259) with a walk, three doubles, a homer, and three RBI off Peavy. Eugenio Suarez ($2,500) is 3-8 with a double, a homer, and three RBI. Joey Votto ($4,800) is 3-10 with two doubles and a walk against Peavy.
Todd Frazier ($3,300) is 3-15 with a homer and three RBI against Jake Arrieta. Brett Lawrie ($2,400) is 2-3 with a double and two RBI against Arrieta. Justin Morneau ($2,700) is 5-14(.357) with three walks, a double, a triple, and a RBI. Melky Cabrera ($2,900) is only 1-11 against Arrieta, but that one hit is a two run homer.
It may be worth stacking against Martin Perez. Coco Crisp ($3,900) is 7-20 with four doubles and a RBI. Khris Davis ($5,000) is 4-5 with a walk, a double, a homer, and three RBI against Perez. Jed Lowrie ($3,200) is 5-16(.313) with a RBI. Jake Smolinski ($4,600) is 2-5 with a triple and two RBI against Perez. Danny Valencia ($4,900) is 3-10 with a walk and a pair of RBI.
Next: More Notes For 7-25
David Ortiz ($5,500) is 11-29(.379) with four walks, four doubles, two homers, and four RBI against Justin Verlander. Those are the only two homers that Verlander has allowed to the current Red Sox team.
Ben Zobrist ($4,000) is only 6-29(.207) against Miguel Gonzalez from his A.L. Days, but he does have four walks, two doubles, a homer, and three RBI.
Carlos Beltran ($4,600) is 5-12 with a walk, a double, a homer, and two RBI against Dallas Keuchel.
As well as Daniel Mengden pitched back on June 16th, he still gave up a solo homer to Ian Desmond ($4,700).
Carlos Gonzalez ($4,900) is 7-17(.412) with two doubles, a homer, and two RBI against Yovani Gallardo.
Michael Bourn ($4,400) is 2-2 with two triples and a walk against Chase Anderson. Jean Segura ($5,100) is 3-6 with a double, a triple, and a RBI.
Albert Pujols ($3,800) is 4-10 with a walk, a double, three homers, and four RBI against Ian Kennedy.
Mark Trumbo ($4,700) is 3-6 with two walks, two homers, and five RBI against Jorge De La Rosa. Nolan Reimold ($2,900) has only faced De La Rosa once. He hit a two run homer off of him.
Eric Hosmer ($3,400) bucks the lefty-lefty split with a 5-18(.278) average against Hector Santiago with a walk, a double, a homer, and three RBI.
Marcell Ozuna ($3,700) is 4-12 with two walks, two doubles, a homer, and three RBI against Jeremy Hellickson. Giancarlo Stanton ($4,400) only has one hit in 13 at bats, but that hit is a two run homer. Chris Johnson ($2,200) is 4-7 with a double and a solo homer.
Neil Walker ($2,200) is 4-16 with a triple, two homers, and four RBI against Carlos Martinez. Yoenis Cespedes ($3,900) is 2-3 with a solo homer against Martinez.
