LSU running back Leonard Fournette has held on to his spot as the Heisman odds favorite by the Bovada sportsbook in Las Vegas.
With just three weeks to go until the first real college football opening day of the 2016 season (sorry, Cal and Hawai’i…your game doesn’t count to many), fans of the sport are anxiously awaiting what the season has in store.
At the same time, those who like to put a little monetary action on the players and teams that make up the sport are also getting an idea about what the season will have in store when it comes to betting odds entering the season.
The Bovada sportsbook in Las Vegas was very helpful in that regard, publishing their latest odds for which player they think will win the Heisman Trophy this December after the regular season has been completed. Just like it was last month, LSU running back Leonard Fournette is the odds on favorite to bring home the school’s second Heisman.

Fournette overtook one of last year’s finalist, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, in the last list released and held on this month, followed by the same three the from last month in McCaffrey, Barrett and Cook.

An interesting drop has been Oklahoma’s Mayfield, who has gone from being in the top five for odds to having his numbers drop in each list since. At the same time, the only one aside from Fournette who has seen their odds get better each month has been Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes — which means either the Red Raiders are going to surprise everyone or something shady is going on.
