Jamie Collins started the New England Patriots’ preseason off with a bang when he intercepted Saints quarterback, Garret Grayson’s pass in the first quarter.
After an off-season filled with rumors and flying hot takes, the New England Patriots are ready to show the world that they are still Super Bowl contenders, even if they lost their prized quarterback for four games.
This season, the New England Patriots opened their preseason schedule against the New Orleans Saints. Normally for Patriots fans, preseason games are meaningless football matches. However star quarterback Tom Brady is suspended for the first four games this season. As a result, fans of the team will want to watch to see if the Patriots are able to lean on their defense and veteran offense players.
Coming into this game, the Patriots knew that they had everything to prove. That’s why in the first quarter when Patriots outside linebacker Jamie Collins saw his chance, he took it.

Although this may just be a pick-six in a preseason game, Jamie Collins made a mid-season quality play. If his interception is an indication of the state of this team, then New England should not be worried about their ability to survive while Brady is suspended.

Additionally, even though this pick-six won’t actually count in the regular season statistics, Collins picking off Grayson was impressive. Before coming into this game, Collins had only intercepted three other passes, so having your fourth interception be returned for a touchdown is a nice way to start off a season.
