Vernon Davis drops easy touchdown (Video)

Washington Redskins tight end Vernon Davis dropped the easiest touchdown pass he saw against Atlanta.

The Washington Redskins are hoping that they can build on their performance last season that saw the team win the NFC East and make the playoffs. Although they bowed out early in a loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Redskins felt good about their performance. In the off-season they made some big moves to the roster and some minor moves.

One of the minor moves the team made was adding tight end Vernon Davis. Although not the passing threat that he once was, the team is hoping that Davis could provide yet another weapon on offense. In his first chance to show what he could do on Thursday night, Davis dropped the ball, literally.

As backup quarterback Colt McCoy threw an absolute dime right to Davis, it went right through his tight end’s arms. There is no excuse for Davis not to catch this ball, because it was thrown to the best spot possible. It’s yet another struggle for Davis, as he hasn’t quite been the same player in quite some time.

It’s a friendly reminder that preseason is the time to work these thins out. It doesn’t matter if you’re a veteran or a rookie, everyone makes mistakes. However, Davis could be fighting for a roster spot and can’t afford these types of mistakes.
