Atletico Madrid made it to their second Champions League final in three seasons last term, and lost for the second time in three seasons to Real Madrid. Manager Diego Simeone has built Europe’s best defensive team and now has a claim to being the world’s best coach. Antoine Griezmann has emerged as a truly world class talent over the past year, and will be essential once again to his side’s progress in Europe. There is no real question the defense will be as a solid as always, so if Griezmann continues to make the most of his opportunities on the counterattack, Atletico should be primed for another deep run.
