Streaming quarterbacks is something that has helped me dominate my leagues in recent years. In week 1 my stream option was Jameis Winston who finished as the fourth overall quarterback in week 1. For those of you that are new to streaming it is rather simple but can seem complicated at first. Every week a quarterback is picked up off of waivers (must be owned in under 50% of ESPN leagues) that has a superior match-up on that specific week. When put into practice over the entirety of a season, this strategy can prove to be extremely efficient.

Matt Ryan – Staying in the South

Matt Ryan is my personal streamer for week 2. Ryan not only had a great week 1 but also has a superior match up this week. Ryan started the season off strong with 24 points against Tampa Bay. This week against a much weaker defense I believe Ryan will finish as a top quarterback. Oakland’s defense was one of the worst against opposing quarterbacks last season and got absolutely torched by Drew Brees in week 1. Matt Ryan might not be a future hall of fame player like Drew Brees clearly is but he is no stranger to having top 5 fantasy weeks. However, Matt Ryan is still owned in only 47% of leagues despite a strong week 1 it appears fantasy owners are still not confident in Matt Ryan.

Consistently Strong Early

Last season the Falcons started the season off 7-0 before ultimately slowing down and missing the playoffs. The hot start was in large part due to Matt Ryan’s stellar play but he did slow down later in the year. Additionally Ryan has a lengthy history of starting off hot before cooling off throughout his career and I believe this year is no exception. Julio Jones is one of the best receivers in the league and the addition of Mohamed Sanu gives Ryan another threat down the field. The combination of Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman out of the backfield gives Ryan plenty of options to work with. When all of these factors are factored in with the great week 2 matchup, Ryan is a no doubt top quarterback this week.
