Tottenham face Sunderland at White Hart Lane on Sunday, Sept. 18. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Tottenham have had a very good, if unspectacular, start to the season. Draws with Tottenham and Liverpool have been balanced with wins against Crystal Palace and Stoke. They put four goals past the Potters last week, as Harry Kane and Dele Alli both got off the mark for the season. That was an encouraging sign for Spurs, but the feel good vibe quickly wore off as they lost their first Champions League game of the season midweek. Manager Mauricio Pochettino will expect his team to put that loss behind them quickly. Frankly, there are probably few opponents they would rather do that against than Sunderland.

Sunderland have only one point from their first four games. They were crushed by Everton at home last week, and things won’t get any easier this week against Tottenham. The only good news, if it even qualifies as such, is that the Black Cats are typically slow starters. They usually wait until mid-February to start making their push for 17th place and Premier League survival. That may well be the case again this year — new manager David Moyes is a historically slow starter as well — but that doesn’t make their performances over the first month of the season look any better.
