Fantasy Football Hot Takes: Week 3

So while the bargain bin articles are reserved for the value, and often, safer plays. This article will be geared more for those fiery takes that may lead to taking down a tournament in fantasy football week 3. Not only is playing the chalk boring, but it’s quite unprofitable in most tournament formats. Here are my red-hot Fantasy Football Hot Takes.

The Titans will beat the Raiders by double digits

The Titans will return home after making an incredible come back last week in Detroit. I’m predicting that the Titans control the game and take advantage of a very weak Oakland Defense. Through two games, Oakland has allowed a total of 1035 yards and 69 points. I’ll be taking a hard look at Mariota in DFS, as he’s failed to impress so far this season. Line movement would also indicate some sharp money on Tennessee, with the Titans now becoming one point favorites.

Buffalo will upset Arizona and Lesean McCoy will be a top 5 fantasy running back

This may be my hottest of hot takes, as news has just been release that Sammy Watkins has missed practice again today (Friday). Even with the injury, I think Arizona may not be as good as we previously assumed. In addition, they’ll be traveling east in a spot where Buffalo desperately needs a win. If Watkins can’t go, and even if he can, I think McCoy will eat in this game. After firing their offensive coordinator, running back coach, Anthony Lynn, will now step in as the OC. Maybe its, too much narrative street thinking, but I think you could see a lot of Shady this week.

Mike Evans will score 30 DraftKings’ points this week

Through two weeks Evans has been among the top receivers in targets, with 24. Obviously Evans has had his fair share of struggles with drops, but I’m not too worried when were seeing this kind of usage. Tampa Bay will take on the Rams at home. The Rams are in a prime spot for a let down game after the huge home win against Seattle. Given his target volume, Evans will put up on a top performance soon, and I want to be the first mover.

Andrew Luck will be the top fantasy quarterback on Sunday

Luck and the Colts will take on the visiting Chargers, at home this week. The Colts have the second highest team total projected at 26.8 points and I think this game has a fairly good chance to shootout. The Colts defense may be one of the worst in football (don’t forget the Browns), and I think they’ll often be in a spot where it requires them to throw. The Charges secondary is much improved with a healthy, Jason Verrett, but Luck should still be able to rack up fantasy points, even if the game doesn’t go the Colts’ way.

Allen Robinson will be the top fantasy receiver

How much A-Rob is too much A-Rob. I love me some Allen Robinson this week. Robinson has let fantasy owners down in the first two weeks, but this is a juicy match up for the Jags offense. We saw the lowly Browns have very little trouble moving the ball on the Ravens, and the Ravens secondary has no one that can come close to handling Robinson. Last week Robinson was shadowed by Verrett, who I mentioned is an elite cover corner, and in week one, it was tough sledding against a solid packers defense. I think recency bias will allow Robinson to be very low owned and if he can convert his targets (has had 20 through two games), he should have a huge day.
