Colorado State Rams quarterback Collin Hill gets absolutely destroyed by Minnesota Golden Gophers defensive end Tai’yon Devers on this fumble-forcing sack.

In the second quarter of the Colorado State Rams’ road game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Minneapolis, Rams quarterback Collin Hill gets absolutely leveled by Golden Gophers defensive end Tai’yon Devers.

Devers completely burns the Colorado State right tackle to crush an unsuspecting Hill that clearly didn’t feel the pressure coming. Hill was hit so hard that his helmet flew yards away from his head.

Minnesota defensive end Gaelin Elmore would recover the fumble Devers forced on Hill with that punishing hit. The Golden Gophers would go on to score just a field goal on that fumble recovery. The Golden Gophers would need eight plays to move the ball 23 yards to kick a field goal to go up 17-7 on the visiting Rams.

Devers’ hit was a play that will make the AP notice undefeated Minnesota when compiling their next Top 25 Poll. The Golden Gophers were 2-0 on the year before welcoming the Rams to Minneapolis. Colorado State’s lone loss on the year came to a decent in-state rival in the Colorado Buffaloes.

Minnesota is fortunate to play in the easier of the two divisions in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers feel like a middle of the pack team in the Big Ten West. They will compete with the likes of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Wisconsin Badgers for a Big Ten West division title this season.

The Golden Gophers would lead the Rams by the same score, 17-7 at halftime in Week 4. They’ll have to play strong football in Big Ten play to have a chance at winning the Big Ten West, but this hit by Devers might be the most jaw-dropping sack of the young football season.
