A flop arguably worse than what’s seen at an NBA game led to this Tennessee player getting one of Florida’s top receivers ejected.

Florida vs. Tennessee has been a whirlwind of a game. The first half saw the Gators dominate, along with the Volunteers struggling to catch a pass. They even got booed off their home field at the end of 30 minutes.

However, the Vols came out firing in the second half, putting up at least five touchdowns and took a 38-21 lead. They were hitting on all cylinders, and Florida couldn’t get anything going. There had been one instance where Tennessee looked bad in the second half, though.

In the beginning of the fourth quarter, Florida player Brandon Powell got ejected for throwing a punch to a Tennessee defender. However, this wasn’t as it seemed, with Rashaun Gauldeen pulling off one of the most egregious flops you’ll see. Powell stuck out his arm, and Gaulden acted like it hit him in the face, leading to the foul and ejection.

Here’s the flop below.

This should lead to Powell getting his ejection revoked, which would mean he doesn’t have to sit out the first half of Florida’s next game.

The referees not noticing the flop may be just as bad, but they could have been left in a situation where they had no choice. If Powell had actually thrown a punch, and the officials didn’t call it, then it’s another situation.

Besides this, Florida’s demise had been the story of the second half. They struggled to get anything going on offense, while Tennessee looked as good as they have all season. It will be interesting to see how this affects the upcoming polls.
