To continue Florida’s demise, Tennessee scored yet another touchdown to increase their lead in the fourth quarter.
Tennessee vs. Florida has been a rivalry dominated by the latter over the past decade. The Gators even looked sharp in the first half of Saturday’s game between the teams, as the Volunteers looked to snap this long streak of losing. Florida had been up 21-3, and looked like they were going to cruise. This included multiple Tennessee wideouts dropping passes, some of which could have resulted in a score.
Well, the second half became a different story. The Tennessee offense woke up and scored 14 points in the third and fourth quarters. Florida stayed quiet during this time, not getting a single point. Turnovers highlighted this, including an interception from quarterback Austin Appleby that led to a touchdown moments later.

Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs hit wide receiver Josh Malone on a 42-yard pass and catch, which got them another seven points. The score would go to 31-21, Vols.
This is the culmination of an incredible turn of events for Butch Jones and Co., who got booed walking off the field at halftime. Adjustments in the game plan had to have been made, or there could have been a locker room pep talk to get the team going.
As for the Gators, their team is continuing to spin out of control. Brandon Powell got ejected from the game due to throwing a punch early in the fourth quarter, putting an emphasis on the team’s struggles. However, it turned out to be a Volunteer player flopping.
