DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for September 26th

Finding value isĀ the ever so elusive, ā€œHoly Grailā€ in Fantasy Baseball. Ā Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to offer a handful of players that could give critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLBĀ picks.

Tonight’s slate features ten games, with the Rangers standing out with the best team total projection of 5.8 runs. The next highest totals belong to Toronto (5), St. Louis (5), Washington (4.7), and Tampa Bay (4.7). Texas appears to be the team that is most under priced, but given their projection, they will also be highly owned. Here are my recommended sources of salary relief for tonight.

Jett Bandy – LAA (C) – $2300

Jett Bandy will make for a solid punt option at the catcher position. Bandy will draw a favorable match up against a lefty, where he holds a .305 wOBA and a .226 ISO split. He’s receiving a significant pricing discount on DraftKings, at only $2300.

Stephen Drew – WSH (2B/SS) – $2900

We’ll have to see who’s playing in the infield of the Nationals tonight, but Stephen Drew is under priced given his recent form and the Nationals run projection of 4.7 runs. Drew is much better against righties, where he holds a .380 wOBA and a .276 ISO split. Drew also has power upside, as he’s has gone deep .055 times per at bat.

Jaime Garcia – STL (P) – $6800

Depending on how you approach lineup construction tonight, Jamie Garcia could be an option, if you’d like to spend down on a pitcher. Garcia will face the Reds at home, where St.Louis is projected to onlyĀ give up 3.6 runs. Garcia is very cheap and should be able to record a few strikeouts as Cincinnati has a significantly higher strikeout rate when facing a lefty.

Bruce Maxwell – OAK (C) – $2600

If Jett Bandy isn’t for your liking, then its worth considering Bruce Maxwell as another punt option at the catcher position. Maxwell is notably improved when facing a righty, as he holds a .343 wOBA split.

Jurickson Profar – TEX (2B/3B) – $3100

Jurickson Profar has had his fair share of struggles of late, but he’ll have a great opportunity to bounce back tonight against the Brewers. The Rangers are projected to score 5.8 runs and if Profar is batting second, he should be considered. Profar will face a righty where he holds a .324 wOBA split.
