DFS Fantasy Football Picks: Week 5 DFS Bargain Bin

Similarly to baseball, finding cheaper value players can be ever so critical to the success of your DFS Fantasy Football Picks. In order to unlock the studs of the slate, you’ll need to find the bargain players that provide important salary relief. Here are my top bargain plays for week four on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

DeAndre Washington – OAK (RB) – DK $3400

With reports of Latavius Murray being doubtful with a toe injury, DeAndre Washington shoots up the rankings, and becomes a viable bargain play. As of now, it appears that the Raiders will split the carries among DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard. I’d expect for Washington to see closer to 60% of the carries, as he’s out-touched Richard 23 to 17, thus far, and reports had surfaced prior to week four, that they wanted to get Washington more involved. I talked about how Washington all the way back in the preseason, in my preseason takeaways article, and his time to shine may now be coming. The game script sets up nicely for DeAndre, as Oakland is a 3.5 point favorite, playing at home.

Zach Ertz – PHI (TE) – DK $3500

You can’t ask for a better spot for Zach Ertz this week. Ertz is now back to 100% health, after a bye week, and will take on the Detroit Lions, who have given up an egregious amount of points to opposing tight ends. I don’t love this spot for the Eagles overall, as this could be a let down game, on the road, but Ertz’s connection with Carson Wentz is undeniable. Ertz is my favorite tight end on either site.

Jordan Howard – CHI (RB) – DK $5200

Jordan Howard lived up to the hype last week, putting up 19.20 DraftKings’ points. He fell into a nice game script with Chicago holding the lead for most of the game. While Chicago is a 4.5 point dog, we know how inept this Colt’s defense is. The game script is a sign of caution, but Howard can also be utilized as a pass catching back (He caught 3 balls on 4 targets last week).

DraftKings Specific

Jerick McKinnon – MIN (RB) – DK $4000

Jerick Mckinnon remains a cheap option as his price tag has only risen by $100 after last week’s performance. He’ll draw another favorable spot, as the Vikings’ are 6 point favorites, playing at home. The Vikings’ back field situation is extremely frustrating, as they continue to give an unproductive, Matt Asiata, carries. Last week, he rushed 6 times for a whopping 6 total yards. Mckinnon will still be out of tournament consideration for me, as he’s losing touches to Asiata, and more importantly, he’s losing valuable goal line work.

Ryan Fitzpatrick – NYJ (QB) – DK $5100

Ryan Fitzpatrick is slightly under priced on DraftKings, in a spot where the Jets’ should be throwing, and could have some success. Pittsburg’s defense is susceptible to the passing game, it’s just a matter of if the Jets’ offense can figure it out. Pittsburgh has one of the more drastic home/road splits, so I don’t think the Jet’s will be in a great position to win the game outright, but I wouldn’t put it past Fitzpatrick to rack up some garbage time points and reach value. I’ll have very little exposure to “Fitzmagic” but it should be noted that he’s under priced on DraftKings.

FanDuel Specific

Amari Cooper ($7200) and Michael Crabtree ($6900) – OAK (WR)

If you’re like me, you’ve been chasing Cooper all season and just can’t seem to quit. Well, this week will be no different. News of Jason Verrett‘s torn ACL surfaced yesterday, bumping up the entire passing game of the Raiders. Verrett was one of the best shut down corners in the league last year, and was leaned on heavily by the Chargers’ defense. Opposite of Verrett, Brandon Flowers missed last week with a concussion and if he misses again this week, I’ll be loading up on the Oakland offense. Oakland has one of the higher projected team totals, of 26.5 points, setting up an appealing match up for Cooper and Crabtree.

Dennis Pitta – BAL (TE) – FD $5500

I’ll start off by saying that Dennis Pitta isn’t going to be one of my top tight ends, but he’s under priced on FanDuel, relative to DraftKings. You should be able to get Pitta at single digit ownership, with most people leaning towards the likes of Ertz, Henry, and Reed.
