An ACC showdown between Miami and Florida State remains unaffected by Hurricane Matthew.

Despite the destruction of Hurricane Matthew on Florida’s coast, it hasn’t stopped Tallahassee from hosting Miami on Saturday night which will be played as scheduled.

Yesterday, two games were impacted by the weather. Florida was scheduled to play LSU, but Florida AD Jeremy Foley refused to reschedule that meeting. It was said that Florida-LSU should try to duke it out on Nov. 19 when both play non-conference games, but that clearly didn’t happen.

Another game affected by Hurricane Matthew was Georgia-South Carolina. Instead of playing on Saturday, the SEC members will meet on Sunday afternoon.

As for the Miami-Florida State game, the agenda will proceed as intended, according to Miami’s athletic director, Blake James.

Miami didn’t make the trip out to Tallahassee until Friday, barring the approach of Hurricane Matthew on Thursday. Luckily, the region stayed dry for the most part. Reports also say that the curling path of the now Category 3 hurricane will hit Florida again early next week. But despite all the activity, the football game between Miami and Florida State will press on.

Under new head coach Mark Richt, the Hurricanes are having their best season since 2003 when they were a part of the Big East Conference. Rounding out the AP Poll’s top 10, Miami has also managed to average 47 points per game behind Brad Kaaya’s 935 passing yards and eight touchdowns.
