Crystal Palace face West Ham at Selhurst Park on Saturday, Oct. 15. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Crystal Palace have been rejuvenated since the arrival of Christian Benteke from Liverpool. The Belgian already has three goals in five games for the Eagles, his latest a towering header to earn a 1-1 draw away against Everton. Given Palace’s biggest weakness in the second half of last season was an inability to score, the question now is, with a proven goalscorer in the team, how high can they go? The top six looks like too much of a reach given the quality of the Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea, but Alan Pardew should expect his side to battle Everton for seventh place and a spot in the Europa League. A win against West Ham would be a big step in the right direction, however poor the Hammers have been so far.

West Ham’s season has been a disaster. They’re 18th in the table, haven’t won since their second game of the season back in August and still have a lengthy injury list to contend with. Last time out, a Dimitri Payet wonder goals saved them a point against Middlesbrough. As good as Payet is, however, he can’t drag this team out of the bottom half completely by himself. The first step for manager Slaven Bilic should be to shore up the league’s worst defense.

Given the form both these sides are in, Crystal Palace are firm favorites, but West Ham become more desperate with every disappointing result. Surely the quality in their side will show through eventually, right?
