DraftKings NHL Picks

Max Pacioretty – MTL (W) – $6700

Max Pacioretty is simply too cheap given his offensive abilities. He’ll be in a favorable match up, as Montreal is a -130 favorite, facing Pittsburgh on the second night of a back to back. Pacioretty will be in play for both cash and tournament games. Last year he accumulated 301 shots, giving him an iCorsi/60 rating of 21.23.

Colin Wilson – NSH (W) – $3100

May 9, 2016; Nashville, TN, USA; Nashville Predators center Colin Wilson (33) reacts with teammate left wing James Neal (18) after scorning a goal against the San Jose Sharks during the third period in game six of the second round of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs at Bridgestone Arena. If you’re looking for a source of salary relief, consider Colin Wilson, who will be playing on the Predators’ 2nd line as well as their second power play unit. Wilson is averaging 16 minutes per game this year, which much more than other players priced in this range.

Brock Nelson – NYI (C) – $4000

Brock Nelson has had a hot start to the year so far, recording 2 goals and one assist. I like Nelson for his price, considering that he’ll see time on the top power play unit. Nelson is also a fairly decent shot blocker, averaging .62 blocks per game last year. Given his iCorsi/60 last year of 13.73, I’ll be taking a long look at Nelson for my lineups.

More from FanSided

Ryan Johansen – NSH (C) – $5700

Nashville should be able to produce fantasy points tonight, given their match up against Dallas. I’d expect to see fast paced game, favoring Nashville, at home. Ryan Johansen is one of my favorite plays on the slate. Johansen will be features on the team’s top line, in addition to being on the top power play unit. Last year, in 80 games, Johansen fired 185 shots. Johansen is one of the better value plays tonight

James Neal – NSH (W) – $6000

I talked about the upside for Nashville in this match up, and James Neal will be another player who should benefit. Neal will be playing on the team’s second line, but will see time on the top power play unit. Dallas does have a formidable penalty killing unit, but from a pricing perspective the Nashville power play unit does have value. Neal is a solid play in cash games for his floor that comes from shots on goal. Last year he had 268 shots, for an iCorsi/60 of 18.19

Mark Giordano – CGY (D) – $6700

While Calgary isn’t known for their defense, they’ll be in an advantageous match up vs. the visiting Buffalo Sabres. Mark Giordano is part of the top defensive pairing for the Flames, as well as playing the point on the top power play unit. Giordano has a safety in cash games, from his ability to both, block shots, and get shots on net. Giordano averaged 2.35 blocks per game last year, in addition to averaging 2.58 shots on goal per game. On DraftKings, you can usually count on guys like these to meet value, and any goal scoring or assists are just a bonus.
