Celtic play Borussia Monchengladbach at Celtic Park on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
If you are looking to see some goals in the Champions League this week then Group C is probably your best bet. With twenty goals scored in the group so far each game is averaging five goals. Match day three will almost certainly follow suit with Celtic hosting Borussia Monchengladbach and Barcelona welcoming Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City side back to the Camp Nou.
Last time out Celtic gave an extremely impressive display against Manchester City. The Scottish champions played out a 3-3 draw with City’s star-laden team and if it were not for some dodgy defending they might have claimed all three points. However Celtic’s defence will always be their Achilles heel when it comes to European football where opposition attackers are of a much higher quality than the Scottish Premiership teams they face week in, week out.

Although soundly beaten by Manchester City, Borussia Monchengladbach were perhaps a little unfortunate to come away with nothing from their match against Barcelona. After taking the lead through a Thorgan Hazard goal they eventually succumbed to the Catalans dominance on the ball. This leaves the German side with zero points and rock bottom of the group, which means a victory is absolutely necessary if they want to advance to the second round. This game is only available to stream online. You can watch it on FoxSoccer2Go with your cable or satellite subscriptions.
It could be difficult to come by though as many a team have tried and failed to beat Celtic in Glasgow. After a few years in the dark, Celtic are finally back to the point where they believe they can beat anyone on these Champions League nights at Parkhead. In the past they have beaten Manchester United, AC Milan and even the almighty FC Barcelona featuring Messi and co. This suggests that Monchengladbach have a difficult task on their hands if they want to leave Scotland with all three points.

Both managers will be hoping for improved defensive displays from their sides but I think that is unlikely. Celtic’s attacking contingent of Dembele, Sinclair and Griffiths will score goals, especially at Celtic Park where the atmosphere really gives them a lift. However The Hoops are defensively frail and Borussia Monchengladbach definitely have enough quality to expose that frailty. Once again goals should be the order of the day in Group C.
