College Football Picks Against The Spread October 27-28

College football can be a fickle beast. It is still easier to pick against the spread than the NFL, but when you pick every game, it can get tough. I struggled a bit last week so I still have a big hole to dig myself out of.

More from College Football Odds

In case you don’t know what I do here, I pick every college football game of the season. Against the spread. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds! I take the average of the odds from all of the Vegas casinos. I then round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football (soccer).

This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS game only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on teams that involve 1-AA teams.

I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line.

This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions (or limbs) because of my picks. These are a guideline that you can use to help you with your picks. I am a simple man. I can’t have that on my conscience.

There are 52 college football games this week, making it another big week with a chance to make up some ground. Eight of those games take place before Saturday. Lets get to those games!

(25)Virginia Tech(-3.5) at Pittsburgh(4): This looks low. Pitt has had some good games this year, mostly at home. They have also had some bad games. I don’t like putting this many points on a game with an inconsistent team such as Pitt, but the Hokies look to be hitting their stride. VT by at least a touchdown.

Akron(-17.5) at Buffalo(3): The Bad News Bulls are at it again. Akron will likely cover this going away, but that half makes me a bit nervous. Nervous enough to drop the point bet a bit.

Ohio at Toledo(-16.5)(1): Wow, that’s a big line! Is Toledo capable of covering it? Probably. Would I bet on it? No! Since I have to pick, I’m taking Toledo, but I have little confidence in it.

Appalachian State(-4.5) at Georgia Southern(2): This is a rivalry that dates back to their FCS days. These are two of the finer option teams you can find in college football these days, so if you want to feel some nostalgia for the old Big 8 or SWC, this is the game for you! Oh, the pick? Give me Appalachian.

California at USC(-16.5)(2): Why is this line climbing? It is up five points already, and I’m not sure why. Sam Darnold has come into his own lately and has the fortune of facing a pretty awful defense. However, Cal is one of the more potent offenses in the conference. I doubt that USC runs off with this, even at home. Give me Cal.

(22)Navy at South Florida(-6.5)(2): This is a tough one. This USF team is built a lot like the Houston team that Navy took out to get them rated. On the other hand, this game is at home for the Bulls and it wont be during a Hurricane. I think I have to go with USF at home. Can they get rated if they win this?

San Diego State(-5.5) at Utah State(3): The Aztecs could have some trouble running against this Aggies front, but can Utah State actually move the ball? Devante Mays should be back, which will go a long ways toward achieving that. That said, I can’t go against the Aztecs for less than a TD. Give me the Pumphreys.

Air Force(-13.5) at Fresno State(1): Fresno is an awful defensive team. There is no sugar-coating that fact. However, the Air Force offense has had trouble moving the ball against everyone. Not just poor defensive teams. Everyone. I have to go with Fresno at home, even against my better judgment.
