Rumors say the Nintendo Switch has a touch screen
The Nintendo Switch was revealed a week ago, and now rumors are starting to swirl about certain features of the console, including a touch screen.
The Nintendo NX, Nintendo’s next gaming console, was revealed last week during a three-minute video. Revealed as the Nintendo Switch, we got a good idea of what to expect from the new console.
In the video, the main focus was to show how we’ll play the console. For example, there’s detachable controllers called Joy-Con’s, which you can attach to a grip and form a controller. You can also place them on the sides of a portable screen, use them individually for co-op play, and there’s also a separate classic remote, which will appeal a lot more to gamers.
But, the one thing that stood out the most was the ability to take the Switch on the go. With the screen, you can take it anywhere and simply game. From an airport to the park, the Switch seems to be accessible in all areas and plays like another handheld gaming device. It’s very exciting.
One of the main questions we had once we saw the reveal was whether or not the screen is a touch screen. Well, according to Eurogamer, it looks like the Switch has a 6.2 inch, 720p multi-touch screen.
To give a bit more details on this rumor, the Switch is a multi-touch display. This means it supports multiple finger gestures at once. It seems like the Switch has a lot more in common with the Wii U and the 3DS than we originally thought.
Eurogamer also suggests that this may be “a continuation of both those brands rather than a new device.” They definitely bring up a valid point. Maybe they’re looking to support both the Wii U and the 3DS on the Switch via digital gaming, which would be pretty neat.
If the multi-touch screen gimmick happens to be true, this adds on another way to play the console. It’s very versatile, to say the least.
