World Series Game 5 recap: Cubs win 3-2 to stay alive against Indians
The Chicago Cubs hung on in Game 5 to keep the series going, winning 3-2 against the Indians in the 2016 World Series.
The Cubs managed to come back in Game 5 of the 2016 World Series to get their first World Series win at Wrigley Field since beating the Detroit Tigers in Game 6 of the 1945 World Series.
They held on for a 3-2 win against the Indians, forcing a Game 6. They’re down a game to the Indians, but they’re in fighting mode.
The Indians got on the board first when Jose Ramirez sent a long ball into the stands in left field for a solo home run to put the Tribe up 1-0.
The Cubs came alive in the fourth inning when Kris Bryant sent a line drive into the left center field stands for a solo home run, knotting the game at 1-1. He was followed by Addison Russell, who sent a grounder to third base, driving in Anthony Rizzo. Then David Ross came up and hit a sac fly to left field, bringing in Ben Zobrist. The Cubs were up 3-1 coming out of four innings.
Francisco Lindor came up in the top of the sixth inning and singled on a line drive to center, scoring Rajal Davis.

Trevor Bauer was strapped with the loss, going four innings and allowing six hits, and three earned runs with seven strikeouts. He ended up with a 5.87 ERA on the night. Terry Francona had to go deep in his bullpen, bringing in closer Cody Allen in the seventh inning.
Jon Lester went to 1-1 on this series, putting in six solid innings of work. He had four hits with two earned runs and five strikeouts. Aroldis Chapman came in for the save.

Game 6 is set for Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 8 p.m. as the 2016 World Series returns to Cleveland.
