College Football Picks Against The Spread November 1-4
College football can be a fickle beast. It is still easier to pick against the spread than the NFL, but when you pick every game, it can get tough. I struggled a bit last week so I still have a big hole to dig myself out of.

In case you don’t know what I do here, I pick every college football game of the season. Against the spread. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds! I take the average of the odds from all of the Vegas casinos. I then round to the nearest half. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football (soccer).
This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS games only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on games that involve 1-AA teams.
I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line.
This is for entertainment purposes only! I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions (or limbs) because of my picks. These are a guideline that you can use to help you with your picks. I am a simple man. I can’t have that on my conscience.
This is the biggest week of the season so far with 60 FBS vs. FBS games! Ten of those take place before Saturday, with MACtion beginning in earnest tonight! We will focus on those picks. I have a big opportunity here to gain some ground. I’m hoping for 40 out of those 60 right. I have never picked 40 right in a single week before, but why not aim high?

Bowling Green at Northern Illinois(-17.5)(1): Good luck finding this line at 17.5. It is at 17 across the board, and hasn’t budged. It likely wont either since 17 seems about dead on. If really pressed, I would still take Bowling Green at 16.5 I don’t trust that NIU offense.
(17)Western Michigan(-17.5) at Ball State(3): Just because the Broncos are capable of covering doesn’t mean they will. Still, this looks low for that talented offense. I’ll take Western Michigan.
Toledo(-8.5) at Akron(3): Toledo lost at home to Ohio last week for the first time since 1967. What’s worse than that? Glad you asked. Worse than that would be Akron getting trampled by Buffalo. Jordan Johnson set a Buffalo record with 282 yards on the ground in Buffalo’s 21 point thrashing of the Zips last week. What do you think Kareem Hunt will do to them? Holy Toledo! (yes, that’s my pick).
Buffalo at Ohio(-19.5)(1): This looks high, but if the MAC has taught me anything this season, it’s that nothing is what it seems in this conference. The Bobcats did a good job of keeping Kareem Hunt under wraps last week, and the Bulls have been Bull s*it on the road. Give me Ohio.
(12)Oklahoma(-20.5) at Iowa State(2): The Oklahoma offense is nearly unstoppable, but the Cyclones have played very well at home so far this year. Our defense is still a work in progress, and though the work against Kansas was promising, I’m not fooled. I went to a Kansas game this year. That team is seriously bad, but fortunately, they are getting better. It’s just hard to see it against a team like Oklahoma. The Sooners have had issues with big receivers, and Allen Lazard is huge. Give me Iowa State.
Arkansas State(-3.5) at Georgia State(2): The Red Wolves have decided on a quarterback, and have improved since. Coincidence? I think not. Just look at Auburn. At any rate, this looks low. I’ll take Arkie State.
UCLA at (21)Colorado(-11.5)(2): This line is all over the place. It opened at -9, and is up to -13 in one place. Who knows where it will be come Thursday. At any rate, I trust the Ralphies more than UCLA. Yes, it still feels strange to say that.
Central Michigan(-3.5) at Miami(OH)(2): The Redhawks have rattled off three straight wins since starting the season with six straight losses. They are playing well right now, and are at home. Give me Miami.
Temple(-10.5) at Connecticut(3): The Owls are on quite a roll right now, beating Central Florida, South Florida, and Cincinnati in the last three weeks by a combined 36 points. Beating UConn by 11 shouldn’t be that tough of a task. Give me Temple.
San Jose State at (24)Boise State(-28.5)(1): The Spartans are just awful. This is a ton of points, and I have never been a believer in Boise this year, but I’m going to buck the trend here. Give me the Smurfs on the should-be-illegal blue field.
