If you believe in curses with the Cubs, this won’t look too good.

The Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians went to battle in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series. It started with Dexter Fowler leading off with a home run to give the Cubs a 1-0 lead. The Indians answered back with a RBI hit, but Chicago began piling on runs to make it 5-1 and eventually 6-3.

However, in the 8th inning, the Indians tied the game 6-6 and remained this way heading into extra innings. It has been a battle of two teams looking to end their World Series droughts, especially the Cubs, who have gone 108 years without a championship.

The Cubs have been known as a “cursed” team, similar to the Boston Red Sox, which saw them end their 86-year curse in 2004. The height of this may have come in the 2003 NLCS where fan Steve Bartman infamously reached over the railing to interfere with a foul ball. Chicago ended up blowing the series and missing out on the World Series.

Well, for those who believe the Cubs are cursed, this won’t help.

Before the Indians tied Game 7, the Cubs locker room had been getting prepped for a World Series celebration. “World Series Champions” is stamped all over the place.

At the moment, with the rain delay in the 10th inning, the Cubs are far from World Series champions. They have to wait for the game to get back underway and manage to tack on a run or more. The Indians can also win with one crack of the bat to have their own locker room party.
