DraftKings NBA Picks for November 7

About half the league is in action with sevenĀ games tonight, which gives us a nice sized player pool. There are a few high priced players to build around. Who should we take as the centerpiece of our DraftKings lineup?

More from DFS

DraftKings is making one very important change for the 2016-2017 season. For some strange reason, they gave up their only advantage over FanDuel for NBA games. DraftKings decided to lock ALL games when the contest starts just as FanDuel does.

The big difference now between FanDuel and DraftKings is the lineups. FanDuel has one more slot, but you are confined to two of every position except center, where you get one. On DraftKings, you get a starting five plus a G, F, and UTIL. This is still an advantage over FanDuel because we can play two centers even though the roster is smaller!

Best Bets:

Russell Westbrook ($12,200):Ā Nothing is ever a sure thing at this price, especially when you need 61 DraftKings points for 5x value. That said, Westbrook has topped that mark three times in six games. His low mark is still 48 DraftKings points, which is still 4x value. When you take that into consideration, Westbrook isn’t much of a risk anymore.

James Harden ($11,700): Harden has abused everyone so far this year. He is averaging 62.6 DraftKings points per game, while not being held under 45. He also has 210 DraftKings points over his last three games.Ā That is nearly 6x value! He is likely a safer play than Westbrook right now!

Honorable Mention:

John Wall ($8,800):Ā Wall’s absence on Saturday was for rest purposes only. It was the first back to back games of the season for Washington, so they were holding Wall out because of his offseason procedures on both knees. He should be back in full capacity tonight, which means 49.2 DraftKings points per game. That is an average of 5.8x value.

Goran Dragic ($7,000):Ā Dragic has been over 31 DraftKings points in every game, but he has only topped 40 once. He is consistently at 4.3-5.5x value. He is a solid foundation for your lineup, but he doesn’t seem to have a lot of upside.

Dark Horses:

Sergio Rodriguez ($5,300):Ā Rodriguez only needs 26.5 DraftKings points for 5x value. He has reached that mark in every game but one (vs. Charlotte) so far. He has topped out at nearly 7x value three times. He is the lowest risk among low priced options tonight.

Tyler Johnson ($4,700):Ā Johnson is worth using when the matchup is right. His matchup tonight against the Thunder isn’t great, but it is very good. The only teams to keep Johnson under 6x value were the Spurs and Hornets, two very good defensive teams. He should come close to that mark against Oklahoma City.

My pick:Ā Harden(PG), Rodriguez(G), Johnson(UTIL)

Best Bets:

George Hill ($6,500):Ā As expected, Hill had a bit of a down game against the Spurs, but he also only played 28 minutes, his lowest total of the season so far. Expect him up in the mid to high 30’s again tonight against the 76ers.

Dwyane Wade ($6,000):Ā Wade had an abysmal night against the Pacers on Saturday, going just 1-9 from the field and playing only 22 minutes. He has a much better matchup tonight against the Magic, and only needs 30 DraftKings points for 5x value. He is averaging 29.8 on the year, even after his dreadful game on Saturday.

Honorable Mention:

Rodney Hood ($5,900):Ā Hood has 96.75 DraftKings points over his last three games. If that isn’t enough, he has a really good matchup against the 76ers tonight. 5x value is likely, and 6.5x isn’t out of reach.

Evan Fournier ($5,900):Ā Fournier is nothing flashy, but he is very consistent. He has a nice looking matchup against the Bulls tonight, and should stick right at 5x value. If you want a sure 30 DraftKings points, Fournier is it.

Dark Horses:

Eric Gordon ($5,400):Ā Gordon has thrived as the Robin to Harden’s Batman. Gordon is averaging 5x value. He has little upside, but he is a sure 25-30 DraftKings points.

Dion Waiters ($4,600):Ā Waiters is always a risk because he is purely a shooter and little else. If he goes cold from the floor, he could torpedo a lineup. That said, he is playing his former team in the Thunder, and you can bet he wants to turn in a good game here. And at this price, he poses little significant risk.

My pick:Ā Hood(SG)

Best Bets:

Kevin Durant ($9,900):Ā Durant has reached at least 5x value in all but one game this season. That is an incredible feat at this price. Harden and Westbrook have a higher ceiling, but Durant is less of a risk.

Nicolas Batum ($6,500):Ā Batum has been between 29 and 37 DraftKings points in every game so far. You know exactly what you are getting from Batum, which is a very underrated quality in cash games.

Honorable Mention:

Paul George ($7,900):Ā George is only down here because his price makes it tough for him to reach 5x value, let alone higher. George has only hit 5x value once in his last four games. He has a solid chance to do it tonight against Charlotte, but I feel more confident investing in Durant.

Gordon Hayward ($6,700):Ā Hayward struggled a bit with his shot (6-17 from the floor) last night in his season debut, but he sank all 14 of his free throws and picked up some solid defensive stats. The finger doesn’t seem to be affecting his shot all that much, and he seems like a great value at this price. However, he is playing the 76ers, and will likely be rested when this turns into a blowout.

Dark Horses:

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist ($5,400):Ā MKG is a beast on the defensive end. Luckily for us, DraftKings rewards handsomely for blocks and steals. Kidd-Gilchrist has back to back games with double digit rebounds. If he can get his scoring up a touch, he would really be a great value play.

C.J. Miles ($4,100):Ā Miles has been hot off the bench for the Pacers with Rodney Stuckey out. He is a bit of a risk because he is exclusively a scorer, but he is in the zone right now. Play him until he cools off!

My pick:Ā Durant(SF), Miles(F)

Best Bets:

Draymond Green ($7,800):Ā Green is such a force on the defensive end that is doesn’t matter that he only averages ten points per game. He has only been held under 5x value once so far this season, though his ceiling is much lower this year with Durant in town.

Myles Turner ($6,900):Ā Turner has a high ceiling, but he has struggled against teams with size on the interior, which Charlotte has. That said, with Roy Hibbert still out, Turner’s matchup becomes a little more favorable, and 5x value is about his floor right now.

Honorable Mention:

Anthony Davis ($11,100):Ā Davis will probably be the least played of the over $10,000 crowd, but there is a reason for this. Davis has only hit 5x value once in the last four games. The Warriors have struggled some on defense this year, but not enough for me to play Davis with confidence tonight.

Blake Griffin ($8,000):Ā Griffin dominated the Spurs on the interior on Saturday, despite only playing 29 minutes in the Clippers’ blowout win. So why is Griffin down here? He is averaging 5x value, right? Yes, but the Pistons have given up the least points to power forwards so far this season. There is likely better bang for your buck somewhere else tonight.

Dark Horses:

Terrence Jones ($4,900):Ā The Pelicans moved Davis over to center and started Jones at PF on Friday, and he dominated the Suns. Jones racked up 46.75 DraftKings points. He is way underpriced for tonight if he starts again. He is at must-play status right now.

Domantas Sabonis ($3,600):Ā Sabonis has put up 50.25 DraftKings points in the two games since Ersan Ilyasova was traded. Jerami Grant is less of a threat to Sabonis’s minutes right now, so 5x value is very easy to come by at this price.

My pick:Ā Jones(PF)

Oct 30, 2016; Miami, FL, USA; Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside (21) dunks the ball as San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard (2) looks on during the first half at American Airlines Arena. The Spurs won 106-99. Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Best Bets:

Hassan Whiteside ($8,600):Ā If you are electing to play a few mid-tier guys instead of two top ones, Whiteside is likely on your team. He is such a force on the defensive end that he has a high floor, which is very nice to have at this price. Whiteside has recorded a double-double in all five games so far, and has 13 blocks already. He should put up some more big numbers against the Thunder tonight.

Andre Drummond ($8,100):Ā Drummond has picked up 20 or more rebounds in three out of his six games so far this year. He even hit 7-11 free throws on Saturday night! He likely wont have as big of a game tonight against the Clippers, but when you average 15 rebounds per game, it really decreases the chances of a bust.

Honorable Mention:

DeAndre Jordan ($6,800):Ā The presence of Griffin up front has taken a huge chunk out of Jordan’s scoring, but he still collects plenty of rebounds. That said, he has a couple of things going against him tonight. First, he is going to be battling the best rebounder on the planet on the boards, so his totals could suffer some. Second, Jordan has onlyĀ attemptedĀ three free throws thisĀ month! If he isn’t scoring from the line, he has less margin for error.

Nikola Vucevic ($6,300):Ā The Bulls aren’t the same team in the middle without Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol around. Vucevic will be the next player to take advantage of them on the interior.

Dark Horses:

Cody Zeller ($4,400):Ā Zeller has had no problems reaching 5x value with Roy Hibbert out. Hibbert is out again tonight, so expect Zeller to be at at least 5x value once again.

Bismack Biyombo ($3,600):Ā Biyombo only plays 20-25 minutes per game, but he has been a force on the inside, averaging eight rebounds and two blocks per contest. That makes him a lock for 6x value if you really need to go cheap.

My pick:Ā Biyombo(C)
