Karl-Anthony Towns ended Brook Lopez with poster dunk (Video)
Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns destroyed both the rim and Brook Lopez with a massive poster dunk on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday night, the United States was largely focused on the results of the 2016 Election. However, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Karl-Anthony Towns were focused on getting their season rolling in the right direction. After being showered in preseason expectations, they’ve stumbled like a young team out of the gate. However, Towns has not been stumbling individually and Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez learned the hard way just how dangerous the young big man can be.
There are many things that make KAT such a special young player in this league. However, one of the primary things is his ability to attack off the dribble with ease. It’s the evolution of the modern big man. So when he had Lopez matched up on him at the elbow, Towns went to work. He put the ball on the floor and put his head down going to the rim.
With his size and athleticism, he got to his mark and went him. Though Lopez tried to put up some sort of resistance, it didn’t matter in the slightest. The Wolves rising superstar just went right over and through him for a massive poster dunk:
Karl-Anthony Towns is not a man you want to stand between him and the rim. He’s just too big, too athletic, and too fast for almost anyone—even someone as big as Lopez—to do enough to stop him from getting buckets. All you end up doing is winding up on the wrong end of a KAT highlight reel.

As for the Wolves, their struggles early in the season continued despite this play. They found themselves going back-and-forth with a Nets team they should be far better than. Those are the breaks with a young team. But when you watch a player like Towns and the rest of this Wolves squad, they’re going some place special, without question.
