Northrup Grumman Military Bowl Odds And Prediction
Now that the holiday is over, we kick into bowl week in earnest! There are four games on Tuesday. Next up is the Northrup Grumman Military Bowl!
So, the issue here is that neither participating teams has military ties. However, it is played in Navy’s home stadium, which we saw far too little of this season.

Temple(-11.5) vs. Wake Forest at Annapolis, MD(3):
Temple(10-3, 8-1 AAC):
Wins: vs. Stony Brook(38-0), vs. Charlotte(48-20), vs. SMU(45-20), at Central Florida(26-25), vs. South Florida(46-30), vs. Cincinnati(34-13), at Connecticut(21-0), at Tulane(31-0), vs. East Carolina(37-10), at Navy(34-10)
Losses: vs. Army(13-28), at Penn State(27-34), at Memphis(27-34)
Record vs. bowl teams: 3-3
After a disappointing 3-3 start, Temple got back on track. The Owls have not lost a game since October 7th, and the only game that really got away from them was the opener against Army. Senior running back and team leader Jahad Thomas missed that game.
Wake Forest(6-6, 3-5 ACC):
Wins: vs. Tulane(7-3), at Duke(24-14), vs. Delaware(38-21), at Indiana(33-28), vs. Syracuse(28-9), vs. Virginia(27-20)
Losses: at North Carolina State(16-33), at Florida State(6-17), vs. Army(13-21), at Louisville(12-44), vs. Clemson(13-35), vs. Boston College(14-17)
Record vs. bowl teams: 1-6
For the second straight year, John Wolford threw more interceptions than touchdowns. That is not a good sign for a team that hasn’t been great running the ball either. The Wake defense was solid at the beginning of the year, but once they hit the good offenses of the ACC, they folded.
Prediction:
Both teams lost to Army, but as we established, Temple was without Jahad Thomas. The other common opponent was Tulane. Wake struggled to beat them. Temple shut them out in New Orleans.
The Temple offense may not be up there with the top of the ACC, but they are pretty close. I have this pegged as my 42 point pick in Bowl Mania, which means I am expecting a blowout.
Pick: Temple
