Russell Westbrook was ejected on Thursday night against the Grizzlies for arguing back-to-back calls

Without a doubt, Russell Westbrook has been the most exciting player to watch this NBA season, as he continues to just rack up triple-doubles at an alarming rate. It seems that when you see Russ play a full game, chances are you’re gonna see the triple-double take place.

However, there won’t be a full game for Westbrook on Thursday night, nor a triple-double. That’s because Westbrook had his night ended early.

The Thunder are taking on the Grizzlies Thursday night, and in the third quarter of this one, Westbrook was unhappy with one of the calls from the referee. Of course, he was assessed a technical foul. But, he decided that he wasn’t done just yet, so he kept on arguing. So, as is customary, the ref shot him another technical, resulting in his ejection from the game.

So no, there won’t be a triple-double for Westbrook on Thursday night, but the ejection really shouldn’t surprise many. Russ is one of the more passionate athletes that you will find on the planet, so when he feels he’s being wronged, he’s not just gonna let the issue go. He didn’t here, and unfortunately he had to pay the price for it.

Still, though, you can chalk this up to another highlight reel for the crazy year that it has been so far for Russell Westbrook without Kevin Durant. It’s not a positive highlight, but it’s a highlight nonetheless.

He exited the game with 21 points, five rebounds and no assists.
