If Von Miller doesn’t win the sack title this year, he hopes Vic Beasley will.

Last year’s Super Bowl showed the Denver Broncos in their finest hour, with the defense clobbering the Carolina Panthers to a 24-10 win. Leading the onslaught was outside linebacker Von Miller, who finished the game with only six tackles and 2.5 sacks, not bad numbers for a player who won the Super Bowl MVP last year.

This season Miller, has 13.5 sacks, continuing his excellent level of play, but there’s one player outshining him in the pass rushing category; Vic Beasley, Jr. The former first round pick of the Atlanta Falcons is currently leading Miller in the sacks by one heading into the season finale. Fortunately, Miller not only doesn’t mind Beasley getting the sack title but he admires his “little brother’s” performance this season.

I still have a game and he still has a game, but Vic, he deserves it,” Miller told ESPN.com. “He’s the leader of that defense. I pay attention to the rankings and the stats. You see you’re up by three sacks and then, all of sudden, you’re down by one. It’s like, ‘Whoa, where did those four sacks come from?’

“You can’t do nothing but just sit here and admire that type of effort and sit back and admire that type of game. Of course, I want to lead the league in sacks. Of course, I want to do all of these great things, individually. But when you look up and see other great guys doing it, too, it’s not so bad.”

Miller, won’t get the opportunity to show the flashes of brilliance he displayed last postseason this year. For Beasley, though, he has the chance to not only win the sack title but up-end Miller with a dominant postseason run of his own. Miller is aware that Beasley is a rising star but he also is aware there is one game left. We can only wait and see if Beasley can hold his lead on Miller for one last Sunday.
