(15)Western Michigan vs. (8)Wisconsin(-9.5)(4):

Western Michigan(13-0, 9-0 MAC):

Wins: at Northwestern(22-21), vs. North Carolina Central(70-21), at Illinois(34-10), vs. Georgia Southern(49-31), at Central Michigan(49-10), vs. Northern Illinois(45-30), at Akron(41-0), vs. Eastern Michigan(45-31), at Ball State(52-20), at Kent State(37-21), vs. Buffalo(38-0), vs. Toledo(55-35), vs. Ohio(29-23)

Losses: NONE

Record vs. bowl teams: 5-0

What did Western Michigan prove by running roughshod over the MAC? That is the question that everyone has. Well, this team has a ton of dangerous offensive players. Zach Terrell may be the most accomplished QB in school history. Jarvion Franklin and Jamauri Bogan are a formidable 1-2 punch at quarterback. WR Corey Davis looks every bit as good as former Bronco receiver Antonio Brown looked at that stage of his career.

Wisconsin(10-3, 7-3 Big Ten(14):

Wins: vs. LSU(16-14), vs. Akron(54-10), vs. Georgia State(23-17), at Michigan State(30-6), at Iowa(17-9), vs. Nebraska(23-17), at Northwestern(21-7), vs. Illinois(48-3), at Purdue(49-20), vs. Minnesota(31-17)

Losses: at Michigan(7-14), vs. Ohio State(23-30), vs. Penn State(31-38)

Record vs. bowl teams: 5-3

Wisconsin’s plodding offense is kind of their calling card. They play really good defense, and rely on not making mistakes on offense to control games. That is not to say that Wisconsin doesn’t have talent on offense.  Corey Clement has quietly had a very good year. The issue is inconsistent quarterback play. That hurt the Badgers against Michigan in a game in which the Badgers outplayed Michigan overall. It hurt them against Ohio State as well.

Prediction:

Western Michigan’s offense will be among the better ones that the Badgers have tangled with. Ohio State and Penn State scored a combined 68 points on the Badgers. While the Broncos may not hit 30 points, I would bet they come close. Wisconsin is going to have all they want in this one. This is way too many.

Pick: Western Michigan
