Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price sent the game to overtime with a massive glove save Saturday.

Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price bailed out his team in the last 30 seconds of its game against the Buffalo Sabres Saturday. With the game tied at 2-2, the Montreal goalie made a pair of massive saves to force overtime.

With 20 seconds left, Sabres winger Matt Moulson came in on a breakaway. Moulson’s wrist shot was saved with a left kick save by the former Veniza award winner. The puck went into the corner, where the Sabres came away with it.

With less than 10 seconds remaining, Moulson retrieved the puck from the corner. A pass from Moulson to Jack Eichel to Rasmus Ristolainen sent the Finnish defenseman in one-on-one against Price.

But Price was up to the challenge and again robbed the Sabres. Price moved from his right post, all the way over to his left post to make the save. Ristolainen thought his wrist shot was going in. But Price had other ideas. A fast glove hand snagged the puck out of the air. The save earned both teams a single point in the standing by forcing overtime. The save brought the crowd out of their seats, giving Price a standing ovation.

In overtime, the Sabres responded with their own incredible save. Sabres goalie Robin Lehner was out of position, but managed somehow to slide back to his left and make an incredible glove save.

Following the Lehner save, the Sabres went down the ice and scored the game-winner. Zack Bogosian’s shot went off the post and in. A visibly upset Price skated off the ice as fast as possible following the loss.
