Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones caught a touchdown just before the end of the first half in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.
With the final game ever being played in the Georgia Dome on Sunday, things went as perfect as they could have possibly have gone for the Atlanta Falcons in the first half. The Green Bay Packers kept shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers and the Falcons would respond with points on the other end of the field. With the first half coming to an end, Julio Jones made sure the team got more points.
As the Falcons had seven seconds left on the clock and no timeouts, they took a risk by going for one more play before a potential field goal attempt. That’s when Matt Ryan found Julio Jones break free in the end zone and he managed to haul in the pass and stay in for the score.

At 24-0, the Falcons’ first-half performance was nothing short of perfect. Ryan picked apart the Green Bay defense and there was just no answer for the amount of talent that the Falcons had out on the field.
Defensively, the Falcons gave Green Bay their chances but they didn’t break. They got a couple of huge turnovers and a missed field goal from Mason Crosby gave them all the momentum they would need to turn this game into a blowout early.
The Packers have done some amazing things before but putting themselves down 24 early was backbreaking. On a stormy day in Atlanta, the Falcons were soaring down the field early and often to a big lead.
