Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones made an incredible leaping grab while getting flipped in the air in the NFC Championship Game.
If Julio Jones wanted to add to his list of achievements with a legendary game in the NFC Championship, he accomplished that feat on Sunday. With multiple touchdowns and big plays against the Green Bay Packers, Jones couldn’t be stopped on the field.
His biggest catch came in the third quarter in the middle of a blowout. As the Falcons were trying to burn clock and continue to add onto their lead, Matt Ryan unloaded a pass and went to Jones down the middle of the field.
Jones would go up and hold onto the football while taking a shot from two defenders. The hit would make Jones flip backwards into the air as he attempted to make the catch. Like the greats always do, Jones was able to hold onto the football and make the incredible catch.
There is always that catch that helps define the legacy of a great wide receiver in the playoffs and this may have been it. Going up and getting the pass is tough enough, but to take a couple of massive hits and flip backwards in the process makes it amazing.
Those are just the types of plays that people have come to expect from Jones when the football is thrown his way. The Falcons’ offense was way too much for the Packers to handle and they scored 24 points in the first half on Sunday. In the third quarter, they continued their tear and the play of Jones was a nightmare for the Packers and their defensive backs. The greats make the plays that help their team win and Jones made sure to make plenty of them in the NFC Championship Game.
