Five fictional teams that could challenge the Brooklyn Nets
3. The office team from Season 1 of The Office
Let’s not be coy. Jim Halpert could play. As he said, basketball was kind of his thing in high school. If people could still go straight from high school to the pros, who knows what kind of career he’d have. Instead he found a dead-end job and a dead-end marriage with the love of his life. I don’t know where heaven is, but I doubt it’s in Scranton.
The rest of the team might be on the rise, though. Michael Scott was the biggest question mark on the team, often costing as many opportunities as he created. However, Scott began a turnaround after his first season. He moved from frustrating antagonist to lovable goof. He was the heart of the show, until there was an Ed Helms transplant, and that didn’t go great. Were the the team to re-form with the original roster, he’d likely be a better captain given his new experiences and emotional intelligence.
First off, Kevin would likely get a shot. We saw he could shoot, and being able to stretch the floor would be a huge advantage. Oscar might get in there as well. He volunteered to play, so perhaps he has some game. Andy Bernard is to be disregarded.
This matchup would also lend the opportunity for some interesting matchups. Phyllis vs. Brook Lopez would be an interesting battle in the paints. Stanley on Jeremy Lin would be interesting, assuming Lin is still injured. Creed Bratton vs. concession stand pricing might lead to one of the most interesting entries on creedthoughts.com yet. It’d be a close game to call, but my money is on the salesmen.
