Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James posted a picture of former New York Knicks enforcer Charles Oakley to his Instagram to show support on Wednesday.

The basketball world has been set ablaze on Wednesday night, courtesy of 90’s legendary enforcer Charles Oakley. The former heart and soul of the New York Knicks caused quite the stir on national television, as he was involved in an altercation with Knicks security. ESPN cameras caught the whole incident and suddenly the nightmare season for the Knicks was turned on its head.

Oakley was tackled to the ground by multiple members of the security force and was handcuffed on the scene. He would be arrested by the NYPD and would then be taken to jail. He was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal trespassing. Watching the incident unfold, fans were in support of one of their favorite Knicks and chanted his name. It appears the NBA’s best player has taken notice too. LeBron James posted a picture of Oakley to his Instagram account and referred to the enforcer as a legend.

With the issues the Knicks have had for a while, it’s no surprise that fans and players alike are jumping to the side of a player that bled Knicks colors when he took the court. James has a great respect for the legends of the game and Oakley has had his back during his spat with Charles Barkley.

While Oakley might not be allowed near the Knicks ever again, there are going to be plenty of people on his side. His altercation with security is something that no basketball fan will forget and it probably summarizes recent Knicks history.

He might have been arrested and may face charges, but he has the support of James. The Cavaliers’ superstar has been very vocal about all issues recently and he’s already weighing in on this one.
