According to a report, former New York Knicks enforcer Charles Oakley will be charged with three counts of assault after an altercation with security.

The strange story of Charles Oakley attending the New York Knicks game on Wednesday night, has taken another turn. After Oakley was arrested in the stands for being involved in an altercation with Knicks security, he was taken to jail. It appears that he will be facing charges.

According Ryan Field of ABC 7 in New York, Oakley is going to be charged with three counts of assault. It coincides with the video of Oakley shoving a security guard during ESPN’s coverage of the Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers.

For all the drama the Knicks organization has had to face this year, this is certainly the last thing they expected. While Oakley has been vocal about the team in the past, no one expected him to be involved in an incident in the stands.

It will be interesting to see how this situation unfolds but it’s a very divisive situation, especially considering the support that Oakley has among the Knicks fan base. During his time in New York, Oakley was a favorite among fans for his physical play.

He’s never been one to be afraid about sharing his opinion when it comes to the team and others. In a season that has turned into a nightmare for the Knicks, they can add Wednesday night to the list.
