Pokemon GO has been revived with the addition of 80 new Pokemon. With these new Pokemon comes new Eevee evolutions.

Generation 2 Pokemon have finally hit Niantic Labs’s augmented reality mobile game.

Players all over the world have been busy discovering the new secrets of Pokemon GO since the update was released this past Thursday. With new Pokemon, new Berries, new evolution items and new avatar customizations, there are a lot of things to dig into.

One of those things is how to obtain Eevee’s evolutions from Gen 2: Umbreon and Espeon.

Eevee, of course, is the cute foxy Pokemon with a plethora of evolution options. When Pokemon GO first hit everyone’s phones, three evolutions were available: Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon.

At first, Eevee’s evolution seemed to be random. However, the Pokemon GO community eventually discovered a trick which would guarantee the evolution obtained from Eevee. The trick involved giving the Eevee you wanted to evolve a certain name. The name would trigger a certain evolution.

Figuring out the name trick took a while for Gen 1. Not so for Gen 2. Players have already discovered the name trick that will guarantee you the exact Eevee you want.

If you want your Eevee to evolve into Espeon, the psychic iteration of the Pokemon, change the name of the Eevee to “Sakura.” If you want your Eevee to instead evolve into Umbreon, the dark iteration, change the name to “Tamao.”

Similar to the Gen 1 names, Sakura and Tamao refer to two trainers within the actual Pokemon story. Sakura is a trainer who, unsurprisingly, uses Espeon as her main Pokemon in battle. Her sister, Tamao, is a trainer who uses Umbreon as her main Pokemon in battle.
