The La Liga title race is, all of a sudden, wide open. Real Madrid had a one-point lead with two games in hand a month ago. They now trail Barcelona by a point, and while they still have a game in hand, they face their rivals at the Bernabeu at the end of April in what now looks like it could be a title decider. Zinedine Zidane’s side have lost, won and drawn their past three league matches, respectively.

They had to come back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 against Las Palmas midweek thanks to two late Cristiano Ronaldo goals. The match also saw Gareth Bale sent off. The Welshman had only recently returned from injury and looked to be rounding into his best form, but Real will now have to do without him.

They face another potentially tricky match this weekend, when they visit seventh-place Eibar. Eibar haven’t lost a league match for over a month, but their last two losses have come to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, which is probably not a good sign as they prepare to face Real.
