Leicester host Liverpool at the King Power Stadium on Monday, Feb. 27. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Leicester host Liverpool at the King Power Stadium on Monday evening in the last fixture from Premier League matchweek 26. It’s been a crazy week for the Foxes, who were playing in the Champions League on Wednesday night and not 24 hours later had sacked their manager, Claudio Ranieri.

The Italian manager led Leicester to the 2015-16 Premier League title in one of the most miraculous underdog stories in modern soccer. However, this season he hasn’t been able to get the best out of his side and they’re currently languishing a point above the relegation zone with only 13 games remaining. There has been widespread outcry over Ranieri’s dismissal but that seems unjustified considering the Foxes league position.

Nobody expected Leicester to win the Premier League again, or even finish in the top four, but their domestic form has simply not been good enough for Ranieri to keep his job. Ultimately for Leicester, and any team that has recently been promoted, staying up is the number one priority as the financial benefits are huge compared to playing in the Championship. The Foxes Champions League form has been a source of joy for Leicester fans and they performed admirably in a 2-1 loss away to Sevilla on Wednesday. That result keeps Leicester very much in the tie and shows them that they can compete with some of the best teams in Europe.

A team that is looking to re-establish that kind of status is Liverpool. The Reds were once a European and domestic powerhouse but in recent years have struggled. Under Jurgen Klopp that seems to be changing and if the Merseyside club can finish in the top four this year then that should be considered a good result. Earlier on in the season it look like they could be title challengers but injuries to key players and the lack of Sadio Mane in January has left Liverpool lagging behind runaway leaders Chelsea. They got back to winning ways with a good win over Tottenham a couple of weeks ago and Klopp will fancy his side’s chances of taking all three points on Monday night.
