Watford face Southampton at Vicarage Road on Saturday, March 4. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Watford drew 1-1 at home with West Ham in their last match and currently sit 12th in the table. That’s a good place to be for the Hornets, all things considered, but they’ll want to make a push for the top half over the remaining few months of the season. Walter Mazzarri will also want to show his employers, who love to fire a manager, that he’s the man to keep the team moving in a positive direction. Troy Deeney will lead the attack as always, but Watford will be without the creative influence of Mauro Zarate, who looked good against the Hammers last week before picking up a nasty knee injury.
Southampton will be hoping to rebound from a heart-breaking loss to Manchester United in last weekend’s EFL Cup final. The Saints were excellent over the 90 minutes, and probably deserved to win, but a disallowed goal in the first half, along with some uncharacteristically sloppy defending and two moments of Zlatan Ibrahimovic magic, saw the trophy go to United. Claude Puel will be hoping his side can respond to that loss with a good result, and might take solace in the form of new signing Manolo Gabbiadini, who has five goals in only three matches for the Saints so far.
