Hello Games has released another update to its procedurally generated space exploration game.

In a world dominated by horizons and wild breaths, Hello Games has surfaced to politely remind us that No Man’s Sky still exists and that it is getting new content.

No Man’s Sky has released the Path Finder update which, in a nutshell, adds new planetary vehicles, new starships, base sharing options and PS4 Pro support.

While there isn’t too much that’s exciting about No Man’s Sky anymore, the addition of three planetary vehicles to the game may be the best part of this update. Back when the game’s first major content update came out, data miners revealed code for these potential vehicles and now they have finally made it in game.

According to the Path Finder update website, the three different vehicles are meant for different types of home planet exploration. The Nomad is a small hovercraft that can move at high speeds and glide over water, but it has minimal cargo space. The Roamer is a more standard off-road vehicle, and the Colossus is a “lumbering behemoth” meant for resource collection.

Hello Games released a trailer for the Path Finder update that contains footage of all three vehicles in action. It even shows a Colossus with a mining laser attached to its roof so you can “mine from the comfort of the Exocraft.”

Outside of vehicles, the update will finally start to make use of No Man’s Sky‘s online capabilities by allowing players to share their bases with the public. While it seems the game still is not supporting face-to-face online interactions, the trailer states you’ll be able to share messages to visitors by building communication terminals.

Different classes of starships and multi-tools have also been added, each with its own specific purpose. Players now can own multiple starships and will need to spend some extra time thinking what gear will best suit their exploration needs.

Adding all of these different distinctions and categories must be an effort to make the slog of No Man’s Sky feel less like … well, a monotonous slog. Hello Games is essentially throwing in some new dynamics in the hope that it will add depth and flavor to the dying game.

Next: Breath of the Wild first impressions

Hello Games does close the Path Finder update trailer with the familiar refrain that more updates are still to come. And while we encourage them to continue attempting to make the game what it should have been in the first place, we also fully admit that we will not be picking up No Man’s Sky any time soon because those wild breaths need to be explored.
