The first official screenshots for Telltale Games’ next project, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, have been released.

It’s hard to deny that Telltale Games is one of, if not, the best video game development studios out right now. For the past couple of years, they’ve been releasing absolutely incredible games. Up next: Guardians of the Galaxy. We have some pretty sweet screenshots of the game in action as well.

It all started with the Sam & Max series, but they’ve shown that they’re so much more than that. Mostly known for the critically praised game, The Walking Dead, they have many more projects that are highly underrated.

For example, there’s The Wolf Among Us, which we recommend playing. Right now. They’re going into a completely different realm with Guardians of the Galaxy, though.

They’ve tackled the superhero genre successfully with Batman: The Telltale Series. The tone for GotG is completely different, however. We expect humor similar to Tales of the Borderlands, which is awesome. It’s great knowing that Marvel is letting these game developers be creative with the in-game storytelling as well.

Check out the new screenshots below:

Based on the screenshots, we already love the direction this game is going in. With Telltale, we know that the story will be the focal point. The actual gameplay is under-appreciated.

You can solve puzzles, make choices that will alter certain story elements, and there are even some combat scenes. The Batman and The Walking Dead games perfectly illustrate this.

Next: No Man's Sky releases new Pathfinder update

We hope it’s very similar to the film while also being original and unique. With this and the movie releasing soon, it’s a great time if you’re a fan.
