According to recent rumors, the next Call of Duty game will be titled World War II. This is definitely a return to form for the series.
At long last, it seems like the Call of Duty series will be returning to its roots. We’ve been through three long years of jet packs and bizarre gaming mechanics that shifted the entire series in a direction we didn’t expect. Although there were some fun moments, it’s time for a return to form. According to CharlieINTEL.com, the next installment will be titled World War II. A piece of concept art showcases this (still a rumor).
If we’re being honest, we would have been just fine with a setting like Modern Warfare or Black Ops. But now they’re just spoiling us. Similar to what EA DICE did with Battlefield 1, developer Sledgehammer Games is looking to take us way back to classic boots on the ground gameplay.
Once again, nothing is official. That being said, based on all of the leaked promotional images and concept art, it looks pretty official. We would want nothing more and if this does end up being true, it’s going to be a long wait until November.
Check out the pieces of concept art below:

There’s no word on an official reveal just yet. However, like every year, we expect them to show off some gameplay at E3 2017. We should get a great look at the single-player campaign. A multiplayer reveal usually comes later.
